说明:A masterpiece of shunga [lit. spring pictures] by Kiyonaga. The closely-cropped narrow hashira-e format dramatically captures the amorous couples in the throes of passion. The title Sode no maki, or ‘Handscroll for the Sleeve’, suggests that it was designed to be carried furtively inside the sleeve of a kimono.
