The deity is depicted seated in lalitasana on an elephant, the Bodhisattva depicted with the left hand held in apanamudra and the right hand raised, dressed in long flowing robes falling into voluminous pleats, further embellished with beaded jewellery, the face with a benevolent expression with downcast eyes and a smile, surmounted by a diadem, the elephant finely portrayed with its head gently swayed to one side. Traces of colour pigment and gilding. Höjd 30 cm.

From the Collection of the Finnish Commercial Counselor Kalle Kuusinen (1889-1980). Thence by descent within the family.
Mr Kuusinen bought the sculptures in Hong Kong in March 1935. when on a around the world trip statues from a round-the-world voyage in Hong Kong in March 1935, when travelling with Consul General Arvo A Himberg. Enclosed is a copy of the itinerary and passenger list of the Empress of Britain that they travelled
