Each good impression and colour, some slight toning, minor soiling, rubbing and creasing in places, a few sheets with some transfer of pigment due to being placed face-en-face with the opposing print in the album, a few sheets with some very minor wear to edges; Chapter Seven from the series Matched Pictures for The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers with slight soiling to the bottom right corner; the paper album covers and inscribed title slip well worn, the paper covering with losses and coming loose from the cover, label applied to the top left corner.

seventy-five woodblock prints, mounted in an album, signed Toyokuni ga (Pictured by Toyokuni) within toshidama cartouche, and comprising:
- sixty-five woodblock prints on deluxe paper, embellished with karazuri, tsuyazuri and bokashi, from the series Lingering Sentiments of a Late Collection of Genji (Genji goshu yojo), the frontispiece titled The Genji Room at Ishiyama Temple (Ishiyama Genji no ma) and signed Ichiyosai Utagawa Toyokuni hitsu (Brush of Ichiyosai Utagawa Toyokuni), censor’s seal aratame (certified) or date seal, variously published by Uoya Eikichi, Hayashiya Shogoro, Wakasaya Yoichi (Jakurindo) and Ebisuya Shoshichi (Kinshodo) (Japanese), block cutter’s mark Yokogawa hori take (Yokogawa Takejiro) or Hori Sennosuke (Sugawa Sennosuke), circa 1858-59
- ten woodblock prints, from the series Matched Pictures for The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers (Chushingura ekyodai), censor’s seal aratame (certified), published by Moriya Jihei (Kinshindo), circa 1859
