Comprising: a waterpot modelled as a ripe peach with a monkey seated atop, the leafy branch forming the spout; and a teapot with applied squirrel-form handle, the ovoid body incised with peony flowers and scrolling foliage, metal cover and spout terminal.

Kenneth Robert Malcolm (1908–1984) was a British civil servant and a noted collector of Asian art. Kenneth Malcolm joined the Indian Civil Service in 1932, serving in India until its Independence in 1947. His collecting spanned Islamic wares as well as objects from China, Korea and Japan. Pieces from his collection were donated to the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Constance Margaret Goldney (1920-2009) was a descendant of Sir David Pollock (1780-1847), former Chief Justice of Bombay, her father was Colonel G.M. Goldney whom she followed into military service and became a Captain of the W.R.A.C. She moved to Hong Kong in the 1960's and became PA, advisor and confidant to several different chairmen of HSBC.
