Modelled as two recumbent kids and nestled together, their fur naturalistically coloured with sparse markings in black and brown, on a mound base applied with leaves and flowerheads, 11.7cm wide, raised anchor picked out in red

Derived from a Meissen original by Kändler, this group would have formed a pair with a group of two lambs, see the pairs sold by Christie's on 10 October 1988, lot 282 and 14 May 2003, lot 229. A similar group of two kids is illustrated by Elizabeth Adams, Chelsea Porcelain, 2001, p.94, fig.7.38, where the author states that just four examples of this rare group are known. The same group was exhibited by Brian Haughton Gallery, A Passion for Porcelain, 2009, p.18, no.11. A similar example left in the white is illustrated by John C Austin, , 1977, pp.118-9, no.112,
