说明:Hanaogi, or ‘Flower Fan’, was a name bestowed upon exceptional courtesans of the Ogiya [lit. House of the Fan]. Utamaro has given this Hanaogi the elongated proportions fashionable in the mid-1790s, her tall, slender form thrown into further relief by the two young attendants who follow closely behind her, one half-concealed by her frame. Each wears kimono emblazoned with open fans among stylised cherry blossoms. Hanaogi's inner robe is embroidered with a profusion of cherry blossoms, in contrast to the geometric design of six-petalled flowers and key-fret pattern on her obi sash.
