Derived from silver, Worcester's wine funnels were individually thrown on a potter's wheel rather than moulded and thus they vary considerably in size. Enamelled examples were only produced for a brief period between about 1754 and 1756, and their extreme rarity is accounted for by their fragility. A similar example is illustrated by Franklin Barrett, , 1953, pl.8A and another by H Rissik Marshall, , 1954, pp. 118-9, pl. 2, no. 38.
