Angela Caròla-Perrotti notes that this type of decoration is based on Asian decorative elements fused with iconography taken from European botanical prints; see Angela Caròla-Perrotti, Le Porcellane dei Borbone di Napoli, Capodimonte e Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea 1743-1806, 1986, p. 66, no. 6, and p. 70, no. 14, for similar floral cups and saucers. A cup and saucer and teapot from the same service decorated with similar fiori coreani were sold in these rooms, 14 June 2017, lots 31-32.
