The present model would have formed a pair with a nanny goat, see lot 110 in this sale and the corresponding footnote. Mary White highlights how this example is probably slightly later in date as there are more decorative elements on the base. Chemical analysis undertaken in 2011 confirmed that the composition is consistent with 'Dry Edge' Derby, see Peter White, op.cit, 2014, pp.168-73.
