註：沈左堯（1921-2007），原名行，浙江海寧人，一九四二年入讀中央大學藝術系，師從傅抱石習書畫篆刻，一九四九年後長期工作於中國科學技術協會，致力藝術普及、工藝美術設計，曾任〈知識就是力量〉、〈科學大眾〉等雜誌美編、記者，晚年將畢生所藏捐贈湖州師範學院。
沈、傅交往頻密，一九四二年傅抱石舉辦「壬午重慶畫展」，沈氏幫助張羅、擔任英文翻譯；越二載沈氏輯〈沈行印存〉，得乃師作序，稱讚「君之才藝多處未可漠然視之也」。一九四七年沈氏協助操辦上海傅抱石畫展，翌年又護送乃師全家歸贛，情誼殊深。四九年後沈氏居京，遇傅抱石北來，即往老師身邊幫忙，一九五九年傅氏創作〈江山如此多嬌〉，畫上毛澤東題字即沈左堯據底本鉤描填墨而成。沈氏著有〈傅抱石的青少年時代〉，並多次撰文介紹乃師藝術。

本輯原藏者為東南亞華僑，乃區內著名實業家，業務遍及中外，範圍廣涉房地產、貿易、投資等，積資豐厚，享譽國際。上世紀七十至八十年代，因生意之緣，遍遊各地，且性忱藝術，入藏不少瓷器及書畫，其鑑賞品位及識見，至今仍為業界所重，本輯作品即彼時入藏，至今已逾四十載。
