款識：
茲邱始幽奧，清光漾泉石。扶疎高樹陰，遺響入空碧。紆綿睇修逕，沿洄漫行跡。上有千仞峰，下有采芝客。臨澗俯清流，涓涓出石隙。飛鼯越古松，棲鶻盤絕壁。乘景窮阻深，言懷謝公屐。回峰互綿亙，繆巒屢盤折。石罅瀉鳴湍，直飛千尺雪。灌木交枝柯，葛蔓紛纍結。雲英韞洞窞，靈藥閟巖穴。過澗懔危橋，渫泉沁甘冽。幽賞愜所懷，㣶徊足怡悅。
辛丑十一月上浣，為文璵賢生作此並題舊詩，西山逸士溥儒。
鈐印：「心畬」、「齊物」。
上款：「文璵」即陳勉，寒玉堂香港門生，賜字文璵，其夫盧孝章與溥氏亦有交。溥氏於一九五八年末、六一及六二年十月，曾三度蒞港，演講、講學及舉辦畫展，文璵即當時投門下，乃師讚其「天資甚高」。歸臺後，溥氏與文璵伉儷猶魚雁頻仍，督學甚勤，時寄奉作品，寫示畫稿，以供臨習 ，亦偶囑託代辦在港事宜。
註：一九六一年十月，溥儒應朋友之邀赴港，與門生故舊宴聚，適逢菊黃蟹肥，飽啖大閘蟹，期間既無繁多筆墨應酬，心情舒暢，故下筆閒適，所出俱精。
據傳世作品所示，辛丑十一月，溥氏有數幅作品寫贈友生，皆綴長題，本幅即其一，乃畫家晚年最擅之袖珍小卷，淺绛設色，山重水複，高不盈掌，而有千里之慨。高士五六，或三兩結伴，或孤身策杖，徜徉其間，許正是畫家此間心境寫照。上題〈大屯山觀瀑〉長詩，見錄於〈南遊集〉下卷，詩畫相彰。是次旅程，溥儒僅短暫逗留，旋踏歸途，故史料敘述未詳，或記載闕如，而據本幅及編號2626〈空山秋夕〉，可補當時交遊情況。
