來源
Louis Lemcovici(1910-2010)舊藏,此後家族傳承
Small ornamental parts or fittings, cast in bronze and also known as trappings, were made in large numbers for bridles, saddles and even chariots during the late Shang and Eastern Zhou period. Many found their way into collections in Europe, the US and Canada in the early decades of the 20th century. Among the many different types of bronze fittings or trappings are small bronze cruciform fittings similar in size and design to the present pair. Compare with a pair of bronze fittings in the collection of King Gustav Adolf of Sweden (1882-1973), published in Nils Palmgren, , Stockholm, 1948, pl. 108:3 and 4. See also a pair of almost identical bronze cruciform fittings in the collection of the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, published by Orvar Karlbeck, 'Select Objects from Ancient Shou Chou', in , 1955, no. 27, pl. 56:2 and 3.
