If a condition report is provided to assist you with assessing the condition of the lot, it is for guidance purposes only. Such condition report may not refer to all faults, restoration, alterations, or adaptations because Sotheby's is not a professional conservator or restorer but rather a condition report is a statement of subjective, qualified opinion genuinely held by Sotheby's. For these reasons, any such condition report is not an alternative to taking your own professional advice regarding the condition of the lot. Prospective buyers should also refer to the Guide for Buyers at Auction which includes important notices concerning the type of property in this sale.

说明：Vases of this type appear to be relatively rare in published records. A similiar example was sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 8th October 1990, lot 626. Two further Daoguang-marked examples were sold separately in these rooms, 25th May 1979, lot 637, and 29th October 1991, lot 104. An unmarked green-glazed vase of similar form, attributed to the Qing dynasty, is preserved in the Taipei Palace Museum, acc. no. guci-18369.
The present shape charmingly recalls the barrel-shaped garden stool. See also a related group, itself a classic Qing form, which typically stands at about twice the height of the present type and with a single large opening at the top; representative examples are preserved in the Beijing Palace Museum (for example, acc. no. gu-160475) and the Taipei Palace Museum (for example, acc. no. zhongci-1279).
