Qianlong four-character marks and of the period
Each body of cylindrical shape rising from a short spreading foot to sloping shoulders surmounted by tall, waisted neck flaring at the mouth, the body meticulously painted around the exterior with a continuous meandering floral scroll issuing various blossoms against a yellow ground, between further floral bands with turquoise-blue ground, the necks with upright plantain leaves and two gilt ribs containing a turquoise-ground band, the bases enamelled white with four-character marks in blue enamel within a double square.

The richly painted decoration of the present vases, comprising a dense foliate scroll of peonies, camellias and carnations reserved against a yellow ground, belongs to an established decorative type found on Qianlong-period Imperial enamels. Closely related floral decoration appears on a range of metal-bodied enamels made for the Qing Court. Compare, for example, a joined jar and cover with a four-character Qianlong mark, and of the period, in the Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in , Taipei, 1999, pl.124; a teapot with a related floral scroll, Qianlong mark and of the period, is illustrated in , pl.118; and a covered bowl decorated throughout with scrolling flowers, Qianlong seal mark and of the period, is illustrated in , pl.135.
Further examples include a gold-bodied cup and stand from the Qing Court Collection, illustrated in , Hong Kong, 2002, pl.204, and a hat stand decorated with closely related floral scrolls, illustrated in ., pl.211. A large table completely covered with foliate flower scrolls on a yellow ground, Qianlong, is illustrated in ., pl.226, demonstrating the wide application of this palette and style within the Imperial Workshops.
Painted enamels on metal were introduced to the Court in Beijing in the early 18th century, with Jesuit artists and artisans playing a key role in establishing the technology during the Kangxi reign. By the time of the Qianlong Emperor, the medium had reached a high level of refinement, reflecting both Imperial patronage and the sophisticated capabilities of the Palace Workshops () within the Forbidden City. These ateliers were responsible for producing cloisonné, champlevé, and painted enamels on metal, porcelain, and glass for Imperial use. The present vases show the characteristic palette, controlled brushwork, and balanced composition associated with the Beijing Enamel Workshop during this period, illustrating the high technical and artistic standards achieved under the Qianlong Emperor's patronage.

平口，直長頸，斜肩，筒腹，矮圈足微微外撇。全器主要施明黃釉為地，繪滿各色纏枝花卉紋，頸部加飾蕉葉紋，肩部及圈足上方則飾如意紋。器內施淺藍綠色釉，底白地藍書雙方框「乾隆年製」楷款。
此類長頸瓶甚為罕見，然其黃地纏枝花卉紋飾，以牡丹、山茶、石竹等繁密花卉為主，乃乾隆朝宮廷畫琺瑯之典型裝飾紋樣。此類紋飾廣見於各式金屬胎琺瑯器。台北故宮博物院藏一件藍料四字雙框乾隆款畫琺琅雙連蓋罐，其纏枝花卉紋可資比對，見《明清琺瑯器展覽圖錄》，台北，1999年，圖版124；同書圖版118之提梁壺、圖版135之蓋碗，亦飾相似纏枝花卉。
另參考清宮舊藏一套乾隆時期金胎畫琺琅花卉紋雲耳盞，見《故宮博物院藏文物珍品大系：金屬胎琺瑯器》，香港，2002年，圖版204；及畫琺琅花鳥圖鏤空天球冠架，見同書，圖版211，亦飾類似花卉卷草紋，其風格與本品一致。從乾隆朝一件畫琺琅花卉紋炕桌（同書圖版226），更可見此類紋飾於宮廷作坊中之廣泛應用。
畫琺瑯工藝於十八世紀初由耶穌會傳教士引入清宮，康熙朝已奠立技術基礎。至乾隆朝，此藝臻於成熟，展現宮廷的鼎力支援與造辦處之精湛工藝水平。造辦處有琺瑯作，負責製作金屬胎掐絲琺瑯、鏨胎琺瑯及畫琺瑯器，亦兼製瓷胎、玻璃胎琺瑯。本品呈色雅麗，筆法細膩，構圖均衡，具乾隆朝北京畫琺瑯作坊之風，足見此時期工藝與藝術水準之巔。
比較一件乾隆朝銅胎畫琺瑯八方雁安黃地番花煖硯，藍料乾隆四字款，其花卉邊飾與本品風格相近，售於香港佳士得，2025年10月30日，拍品編號814。
