Two paintings, ink and light color on paper, mounted and framed, the first inscribed by Wu Changshuo, dated to his eighty-fourth year, signed Wu Changshuo with an artist's seal; the second painting inscribed by Wang Zhen and dated dingmao, signed Bailong shanren with three artist's seals.

The Tien Yin Tang Collection
The Tien Yin Tang collection was founded by a prominent diplomat, educator and collector from Xingtang, Hebei Province. He acquired his Ph. D degree from the Cornell University, then taught at the Yenching University as a professor, and served as an official at the Education Department of the Nationalist government. In 1946, he was appointed the acting mayor of Beijing and in 1949 relocated to Taiwan. From 1950 to 1964, he spent the majority of his time in Japan, representing the government of Taiwan as a diplomat. Upon his return to Taiwan, he served as the Secretary General of the Asian-Pacific Parliamentarians' Union.
The owner of the Tien Yin Tang Collection was a discerning connoisseur with a deep and abiding passion for painting and calligraphy. He maintained close friendships with such towering figures of twentieth-century Chinese painting as Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) and Pu Ru (1896-1963). Many of the classical and modern paintings and calligraphy in his collection were inscribed or dedicated to him by leading artists of the day, with works bearing personal dedications from his contemporaries forming a particularly treasured part of the collection. His collection of classical works was often examined and advised upon by knowledgeable friends and fellow connoisseurs. A carefully selected group was subsequently published in .

Distinguished by their well-documented provenance, exceptional quality, and fine state of preservation, works from the collection have long been highly regarded among collectors.

天隱堂舊藏
天隱堂主人籍隸河北行唐人，駐日公使、教育家、收藏家，嘗負笈美國，獲康奈爾大學博士學位。曾任北平燕京大學教授，並於民國時期國民政府教育部屢膺要職。1946年，署理北平市長。1949年，渡海赴台。1950至1965年間，至日本為公使。回台後，於亞洲國會議員聯合會任秘書長。
天隱堂主人於翰墨一道，深懷雅嗜。與張大千、溥心畬等二十世紀畫壇巨擘交誼深厚，所蓄古今書畫，多蒙諸家題贈，尤以時賢上款為珍。其所藏古書畫，恒得行家好友為之掌眼，覆精擇付梓，刊行《天隱堂名畫選》，以饗同好。紐約邦瀚斯已數度推出天隱堂舊藏，每獲佳評。其藏珍來源清晰，品相精妙，展卷燦然，向為識者所重。
