Length 19 in., 48.3 cm.

Good condition. Old restoration to the center and front bottom right corner.

Carved in low relief with an apsara flying amidst clouds, with billowing robes and scarves. The reverse with a title slip marked lunar year gengzi, and two collectors' seals.

For a set of closely related terracotta panels, likely from the same original set based on their identical dimensions, motifs and craftsmanship, and the 11th-century dating, see the fifteen reliefs from a Buddhist temple in the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, Maryland, accession nos. 25.15–29. The panels were acquired by Henry Walters from Yamanaka & Co., New York, and subsequently bequeathed to the museum in 1931.
