说明：龍泉窰模印及貼塑裝飾始見於南宋晚期，至元代漸趨盛行，產量亦隨之增加。本罐原於日本茶道中用作「水指」，器呈鼓式，為龍泉青瓷中最為罕見的形制之一，器身牡丹紋尤為精美。
靜嘉堂文庫美術館藏一件同式例，尺寸較大，並保存原蓋，同樣飾以牡丹紋，著錄於長谷部樂爾編，《世界陶磁全集》，卷十二〈宋〉，東京，1977年，圖版85及86。靜嘉堂文庫所藏此器堪稱日本最負盛名、最受推崇的龍泉青瓷傑作之一。
另可比較大維德爵士舊藏一件飾花頭紋的同式例，現藏倫敦大英博物館，著錄於R. L. Hobson，《大維德所藏中國陶瓷圖錄》，倫敦，1934年，圖版LII。另見安田靫彥（卒於1978年）舊藏一件，形制及尺寸均與本品極為相近，器身同飾纏枝牡丹紋，於紐約佳士得2019年9月13日拍賣，編號1047；並曾展於Eskenazi，《Chinese Ceramics, Lacquer and Gold from the 12th to the 14th Century》，倫敦，2023年，編號18。
