The single panel set within a rectangular frame with evert ends to each narrow side, above a waisted neck with a short, plain apron, set in the centre with a drawer, resting on four legs of square section terminating in hoof feet and joined to the frame by giant's-arm braces.
96.5cm (38in) wide x 41.5cm (16 3/8in) deep x 80.5cm (31 3/4in) high.

Characterised by its refined simplicity, the present table relies on harmonious proportions for its quiet elegance. Its understated framework highlights the luminous, fluid grain and warm honey tones of the huanghuali timber. Notably, the gracefully shaped everted flanges at either end provide a rare and distinctive flourish, subtly elevating an otherwise classic silhouette.
The presence of the 'giant's arm' braces eliminated the need for the more commonly seen humpback stretchers. Compare with a related table with 'giant's arm' braces, late 16th/early 17th century, illustrated by S.Handler, , London, 2001, p.190, fig.12.10. Another related square table with 'giant's arm' braces, is illustrated by G.Ecke, , Hong Kong, 1962, p.11, pl.10.
