The oval blade connecting to the hollow shaft opposite to a wedge-shaped knop, decorated with a raised zigzag band enclosing raised bosses on each side, one end of the shaft with a small loop for stringing, a shallow relief of pictogram cast to one side of the shaft.

Compare the oval bronze axe and hollow shaft illustrated by Rawson and Bunker, Ancient Chinese and Ordos Bronzes, Hong Kong, 1990, p. 158, no. 58, described by the authors 'this weapon was made on the periphery of China and follows a foreign axe type.' Compare also the closely-related bronze axe cast with a pictogram in a line relief, unearthed in 1980 at Longtou town, Chenggu County, and now in the collection of the Chenggu County Museum, illustrated in , Xi'an, 1994, p. 284, no. 242.
