说明：本盤尺寸碩大，紋飾鮮明華麗，為署「儲秀宮製」款瓷器中精美而罕見的一例。儲秀宮位於紫禁城內廷西六宮之西北隅，始建於十五世紀，深受慈禧太后喜愛，並於1856至1885年間作為其主要居所。
署「儲秀宮製」堂名款的瓷器，似多用作宮廷賞賜，而非日常用器，且可能由慈禧太后下令成批燒造；參見陳克倫，〈華繁錦色永慶長春——慈禧和她的御用瓷器〉，《紫禁城》，2019年9月，頁134。Ronald W. Longsdorf指出，慈禧於1884年適逢五十壽辰之際重修儲秀宮，以華麗陳設及仿十八世紀式樣的大型器物裝點宮室；見〈The Tongzhi Imperial Wedding Porcelain〉，《Orientations》，1996年10月，頁70。
本盤亦承襲前朝御瓷傳統。盤身以釉下青花為地，綠彩繪雙龍追逐火珠，忠實承襲康熙時期（1662–1722年）廣受推崇的經典紋樣，亦反映慈禧對清宮正統及藝術傳承的重視。可比較日內瓦鮑爾基金會藏一件尺寸較小的康熙款同式龍紋盤，著錄於John Ayers，《The Baur Collection: Chinese Ceramics》，卷四，日內瓦，1974年，圖版A555；另有一件於香港佳士得2016年6月1日拍賣，編號3236。
此式大盤傳世罕見，目前所見大致可分為三種尺寸。直徑約32公分者，包括關氏收藏一例，曾展於《清朝瑰寶》，香港藝術館，香港，1992年，編號143，後於新加坡佳士得1997年3月30日拍賣，編號345；另有一件於紐約蘇富比2024年9月18日拍賣，編號168。直徑逾70公分者，包括北京故宮博物院藏一例，載於前述陳克倫文章，頁134；以及Barbara Jean Levy舊藏一例，於紐約蘇富比2023年9月20日拍賣，編號569。與本品尺寸相若、直徑約48公分者，包括一件於香港蘇富比1974年10月31日至11月1日拍賣，編號295；以及一件於香港佳士得1996年4月29日拍賣，編號782。
