A LARGE FAMILLE VERTE BOWL
Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period
With steep sides rising to a flared, foliate-shaped rim, moulded with two bands of shaped panels painted with alternating scenes of flowers and various mythical beasts in gardens with overhanging rockwork, pine and swirling clouds, the interior with a central medaillon depicting a bird in flight over flowering shrubs, the base with a stylised mark in underglaze blue within a double circle.
