Footnotes
江戶時代 十七至十八世紀 青花有田燒柿右衛門盤及伊萬里撐傘美人盤
Provenance: Both purchased from Christophe Perlès, Paris, 22nd June 2016.
For another example of the Arita dish, see the Royal Collection Trust, no.RCIN 1765. An identical dish from the collection of Augustus II 'the Strong' at Dresden was among a group presented by Queen Victoria to the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1860, acc.no.7331-1860.
The Japanese Pronk plates were only produced for a very short period of time and thus are rather rare. Similar plates can be found in several prominent collections worldwide, including those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2002.447.121), the Minneapolis Institute of Art (2015.79.301), the Ashmolean Museum (EA1978.489) and the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka.
