Shadakshari is a four-armed manifestation of the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara, and is associated with his six-syllable mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, "homage to the jewel in the lotus." The mantra carries profound symbolic meaning, leading to the purification of body, speech, and mind and the attainment of Buddhahood.
