A Kraak dish, painted in contrasting yet soft shades of underglaze cobalt blue. The octagonal central medallion depicts a large carp leaping from crashing waves, amid flames beneath a sky filled with stylised rolling clouds and a radiant sun. The dynamic composition is framed by diaper borders incorporating fretwork and scale motifs.
The rim is divided into eight typical Kraak panels containing peaches and auspicious emblems, accompanied by flowing ribbons and tassels. The peaches are rendered in such a highly stylised manner that their form approaches that of sunflower blooms. These panels are separated by narrower divisions depicting beaded pendants, framed by alternating geometric fretwork and scale-patterned diapers.
The reverse bears a more perfunctorily painted decoration, composed of roundels alternating with narrow panels of linear ornament derived from stylised cloud motifs.
The leaping carp is a celebrated symbol of perseverance, courage, and achievement in Chinese art. Derived from the ancient legend of the Dragon Gate (Liyu tiao Longmen, 鲤鱼跳龙门), the motif depicts a carp striving to ascend a waterfall in the hope of transforming into a dragon, embodying the virtues of determination, ambition, and ultimate success.
此件克拉克青花盤以濃淡對比鮮明而柔和的青花繪飾。盤心八方形開光內繪鯉魚躍浪圖，一尾碩大鯉魚從翻湧的波濤中騰躍而起，周圍火焰升騰，上方程式化卷雲密布，一輪紅日高懸。構圖動感強烈，開光外環飾回紋及魚鱗錦地紋。
口沿分為八組典型的克拉克式開光，內繪桃實及各式吉祥雜寶，並配以飄帶與流蘇。桃實造型高度程式化，形態近似盛開的向日葵。各開光之間以狹長分格相隔，內繪連珠垂飾紋，上下配以回紋及魚鱗錦地紋。
盤背裝飾較為簡略，以圓形開光與狹長線條紋飾相間排列，後者由程式化雲紋演變而來。
鯉魚躍浪是中國傳統藝術中象徵堅毅、勇氣與功成名就的經典題材，源自「鯉魚跳龍門」的傳說。相傳鯉魚若能逆流而上、越過龍門，便可化身為龍，因而寓意不畏艱難、奮發進取，最終成就功名。
