The plate is finely potted with a contoured rim, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. The centre depicts a lizard crouching upon a rock, its head raised and mouth open as it watches an insect in flight, surrounded by flowering plants and foliate sprigs. The rim is decorated with the Ducks in a Lotus Pond (Manchi jiao, 滿池嬌) design, while the reverse is painted with flowering prunus branches and birds perched among the twigs.
The lizard, flying insect, and flowering plants form a lively natural scene of unusual and exceptionally rare subject matter. The moment before the lizard strikes is vividly captured, creating a playful interaction with the insect fluttering overhead.
此盤花口，淺折沿，下承圈足。盤心以青花繪一隻蜥蜴伏於山石之上，仰首注視飛蟲，張口作捕食狀，身後伴以蘭草及花卉。口沿環飾 ‘滿池嬌’ 圖，外壁繪折枝梅花及棲於枝頭的禽鳥。
此盤以蜥蜴、飛蟲及花草構成生動的自然景象，題材新穎別緻，十分少見。蜥蜴蓄勢捕食的瞬間刻畫傳神，與空中飛舞的昆蟲相互呼應，趣味橫生。
