For a similar but soft-paste bottle of the same subject, see Bob C. Stevens: The Collector's Book of Snuff Bottles, New York and Tokyo, 1976, pl.260. According to Stevens, "The production of molded porcelain bottles appears to have begun during the Chia-ch'ing era... snuff bottles seem to have attained the peak of their perfection during that time. Produced in the imperial porcelain factory at Ching-tê-chên, many bottles were made for the emperor and his court."
