Each stool's rectangular hinged top frame enclosing a central wide oval splat flanked to each side by three narrow slats, and carved on each side by a continuous band of chilong, tenoned to a pair of oval cross members of hinged round section which are secured to their base stretchers, supporting a folding footrest set with an elaborate metal plate cut out with interlocking diamond patterns enclosed by cloud-and spiral brackets.
