说明：菩薩垂眸俯視，神情慈和寧靜，頭戴繁麗王者冠飾，堪稱七世紀之交中國人物雕塑風格嬗變的傑作。面龐豐腴，下頷圓潤飽滿；雙目微斜，間距寬闊，刻劃清晰，流露靜觀冥思之態；鼻脣端雅柔和。此首像充分展現隋代（581–618年）造像的典型特色，見證雕塑藝術從早期凝練莊重的風格，逐步轉向唐代（618–907年）更為鮮明生動的自然主義表現。
山東青州遺址曾出土多件北齊至隋代佛教造像，其面容同樣圓厚飽滿。此類造像有時被認為受到印度笈多時期藝術影響；本品質樸有力的五官塑造及沉穩堅實的雕刻手法，亦顯露相關特徵，惟尚未完全轉化為唐代造像圓融流暢的自然風格。可比較《Return of the Buddha: The Qingzhou Discoveries》，倫敦皇家藝術研究院，2002年，所錄多件造像，均具繁複垂旒冠飾及厚重面容，尤見編號29及31；另可參考山西隋代遺址所見相關例，載於Osvald Sirén，《Chinese Sculpture from the Fifth to the Fourteenth Century》，卷二，倫敦，1925年，圖版303A、303B、316及329。
