A BRONZE 'TORTOISE' WATER DROPPER AND A GILT-BRONZE 'PHOENIX' WATER DROPPER
Six Dynasties Period and Ming Dynasty
One bronze water dropper naturalistically cast in the form of a tortoise resting on all four legs with its head forward, the top of the domed carapace with an short tubular aperture; the gilt-bronze water dropper with the globular body supported on three legs, a phoenix-head forming the spout opposite a loop handle terminating in a bovine head.
11 cm (4 3/8 in.) long and 7.5 cm (3 in.) long (3).
