Delicately potted with gently curved sides and painted around the exterior with stylised blossoms issuing from leafy stems, the recessed base inscribed with an eight-character Xuantong Jiyou Yichun Tang Zhi mark ('made for the Hall of Everlasting Spring in Jiyou year of Xuantong')

See a pair of identical cups sold at Christie's New York, 14 Dec 2021, lot 90.
An identical cup with the same mark is housed in the collection of the Victoria and Albert museum, and is illustrated in 'Rare Marks on Chinese Ceramics', London 1998, pp. 150-151, no. 65. The author states that Yichang Tang was the studio name of the collector Liu Shiheng (1875-1937), alias Juqing.
