说明：During the Yuan dynasty, Jingdezhen’s blue-and-white porcelain production was centered at two primary kiln sites: Hutian and Luomaqiao. The monumental, densely ornamented vessels most familiar to collectors and institutions today were predominantly fired at Hutian, destined largely for export to the royal courts of West and Southeast Asia. In contrast, wares from the Luomaqiao kilns reveal forms and decorative styles that challenge traditional perceptions of Yuan blue-and-white. Because systematic archaeological excavations at Luomaqiao only took place between 2012 and 2015, this distinct group of ceramics remained largely unknown to scholars and the market until very recently. These recent discoveries have reshaped our understanding of early porcelain forms. The distinctive 'chicken-heart' bowl (jixin wan), for instance, was long presumed to be a formal innovation of the Yongle period. We now know that this elegant shape was already being produced in limited quantities at the Luomaqiao kilns during the Yuan dynasty. Aside from the present lot, the only known comparable example is a blue-and-white lotus-petal bowl excavated from the Luomaqiao kiln site, published in Jiang Jianxin, 'Lun Luomaqiao yizhi chutu de Yuan qinghua ciqi — jian lun Yuandai yaoye de ruogan wenti' [On the Yuan blue-and-white porcelains excavated from the Luomaqiao site — with a discussion on some questions regarding the ceramic industry in the Yuan dynasty], Wenwu, 2017, no. 5, pp. 50-61, fig. 1.
元青花在景德鎮的主要產地有兩處，一為湖田地區，一為亮馬橋地區。公私博物館及市場所見大件恢弘，花紋繁複之器，大多產於湖田地區，主要出口西亞或東南亞諸國宮廷；而風格與之相異的另一類則主要產自落馬橋地區，其器型、裝飾風格與傳統印象中的元青花，略微不同。蓋因落馬橋地區系統的發掘研究要到2012年至2015年才得以進行，在此之前，學界及藏界對這一地區的元青花所知不多。相關討論參見劉新園，〈景德鎮瓷窯遺址的調查與中國陶瓷史上的幾個相關問題〉，《景德鎮出土陶瓷》，香港，1992 年，頁14及15。
