The present lot epitomises the beauty standards and fashion of 8th century China, small lips, plump cheeks, full-figured in a long flowing dress and an elaborate coiffure known as the 'fallen horse' hairstyle after Yang Guifei's iconic look which won her the affection of Emperor Xuanzong (685-762).
