Guangxu seal mark and of the period
The vase with a baluster body rising to a tall, slightly flaring cylindrical neck, the glass of deep lapis lazuli-blue tone.
21.6cm (8 1/2in) high.

The present lot may be a product of the Qing Imperial Glass Workshop, which was established in Beijing during the 18th century under the direction of the Jesuit missionary Kilian Stumpf. The workshop remained in operation until the third year of the Xuantong reign (1911). A similar Guangxu seal mark can be seen on the base of a blue glass bowl, in the Beijing Palace Museum and illustrated in Luster of Autumn Water: Glass of the Qing Imperial Workshop (光凝秋水：清宮造辦處玻璃器), Beijing, 2005, p.363. See also a related blue glass vase, Guangxu four-character mark and of the period, in the Palace Museum, Beijing, and illustrated in , pp.356-357.
Compare with a turquoise glass vase of similar size, Guangxu mark and period, which was sold at Sotheby's London, 9 November 2018, lot 435.
