上款：「五湖」即金城弟子李上達。李氏，遼寧人，擅山水，曾受聘奉天張學良府，授其子女繪畫。
北樓門人以「湖」為號，陳少梅（升湖）與李上達（五湖）具同門之誼，故上款稱「五湖我兄」。兩人皆湖社中堅，同擅山水，贈以山水亦具切磋交流之意。畫中清流成溪，高士岸傍垂足，正是取法滄浪濯足之故實。
