The Asian art holdings of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art/Florida State University in Sarasota are anchored by the Nancy and Ira Koger Collection, one of the most comprehensive assemblages of Chinese ceramics formed in twentieth-century America.
Brought together over four decades by the prominent real estate developer, philanthropist, and arts patron Ira Koger (1912–2004) and his wife Nancy (1915–2005), their collection spanned approximately 1,000 objects across the breadth of Chinese ceramic history. The Kogers approached their collecting with a rigorous academic focus, acquiring pieces prized for exceptional potting, glaze quality, and historical significance.
Though best known for highly important imperial porcelains, the Kogers possessed a profound appreciation for Ming and Qing dynasty monochromes. Their selection of blanc-de-chine reflects a discerning eye for the Dehua kilns' finest output, prioritizing elegantly modeled forms and rich, ivory-toned glazes.
The couple's relationship with The Ringling long predated their 2001 gift of their blanc-de-chine collection, a landmark donation that established the foundation for the institution’s Center for Asian Art. In the acknowledgments for John Ayers’ definitive 1985 catalogue, Chinese Ceramics: The Koger Collection, Ira and Nancy specifically thanked the museum for its institutional sponsorship.
Select works from the Kroger collection at the Ringling have recently been deaccessioned. Preserved in institutional hands for over two decades, these pieces now present a rare opportunity for a new generation of collectors.

(The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art)釋出,均由陶瓷收藏大家克格爾夫婦(Ira and Nancy Ira Koger)捐贈。
