Overall, the screens are in good condition, most Japanese screens have some restoration by the nature of their use being opened and closed repeatedly, there is some wear around the hinges consistent with age and use, there is some slight soiling and minor wear to the gofun, a few minor losses to gofun and pigments in places, the gold ground with some slight re-touching in places as is typical, some scattered repairs, some retouching around the hinges, the silk brocade border and black lacquer mounts with some old wear, the paper backing toned and with some old wear in places, the copper-gilt fittings with some surface rust.
