林風眠一九七七年底自滬來港定居，最初獲堂弟林汝祥招待，居於九龍彌敦道中僑國貨公司同座大厦，作品經由中僑畫廊代售，翌年於該畫廊舉行展覽，乃遷港後首次個展，展出近作廿餘幅，包括風景、花鳥、仕女、京劇人物、靜物等題材，觀者踴躍，反響熱烈。期間畫家與林汝祥等合攝於本幅前，一月卅一日〈華僑日報〉刊文介紹展覽，並配部份展品圖片，本幅即其一。
