Footnotes
戰國 青釉瓷匜
Pouring vessels of this type are rare, but ash‑glazed vessels, with ribbed bands, are typical of Warring States period (475–221 BCE) high‑fired ceramics, reflecting early experimentation with ash glazes to produce a durable, slightly vitreous surface. Ribbing reinforced the body and enhanced grip. See for example, an ash-glazed jar with ribbed band, Warring States period, illustrated by R.Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol.1, London, 1994, no.132.
