Ming Dynasty, 16th/17th century
The shallow cup with a gilt-bronze loop handle to one side, the exterior adorned with a frieze of leafy lotus scroll, below a border of alternating wan and yin-yang symbols, the flat underside centred with a further yin-yang medallion, encircled by the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, box.
