Of natural pebble form, the stone of a whitish tone with faint russet patches, all finished with an attractive soft matte polish, the ivory stopper carved as a branch.

Roger Bluett (1925-2000) was director of Bluett & Sons Ltd., following in the footsteps of his father Leonard. He was also President of BADA in the mid-1970s, Chairman of the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, the first Chairman of the ceramics course at West Dean and the first Chairman of the Museum of East Asian Art, Bath.
