註：高奇峰山水重氣氛營造，尤能體現其融貫東洋畫著重情韻之旨趣。畫中暮色漸攏，遠山巍峨，煙嵐迷濛。畫家藉墨色濃淡、乾濕與層層積染之微妙變化，呈現景物層次與光影明暗之關係。山上亭臺房舍以淡墨、赭石薄施渲染，色調含蓄而富變化，虛實交融。重巒左右夾護，白練自縫隙中裂壁傾瀉而出，合聚林壑深處，水流以留白出之，益見光線映照之效果，與周遭蒼鬱沉暗頓生鮮明對比，掙出一絲可供呼吸的空間。
前景古木蒼然，以濃淡墨點積聚散布而成，老樹陡然挺拔而起，呈插天之勢，枝幹左右穿插交搭，群鳥或翱翔盤旋，或棲息枝頭，蕭瑟山林自添生機。
攷其傳世為數不多之山水作品，構圖相類者，可與〈如此江山〉或〈山水〉互參照，惟本幅於建築、群鳥等細節出諸細筆收拾，尤見用心。
