The pair of fine cloisonné enamel quail-form censers and covers represented in mirror image, standing on two legs, one with its head turning to the right, while the other turns to the left, both with their beaks slightly open for the incense smoke to escape, the lids carefully executed to form the wings drawn against their bodies, the stylised plumage rendered by the fine gilt partition wires with dark green, yellow, blue and red enamels, both with gilt beaks and legs
