the circular dish with foliate rim on a raised ring foot, decorated in green, blue, yellow, black and aubergine enamels, with a rectangular cartouche depicting pine, plum and bamboo forming the Three Friends of Winter (Shochikubai), the eight petals of the foliate rim alternately decorated with keyfret and diamond design, aubergine rim, the underside with scrolling foliage on a green ground, the raised foot with comb pattern, the interior of the ring foot with cursive motif on a yellow ground
