Comprising: a mottled pale green and brown disc in the shape of an ancient coin, one side carved with the inscription reading banliang, the reverse with the moon and sun; a mottled grey and dark brown jade disc, one side carved in high relief with a sinuous chi dragon in a crouching pose; a pale green and grey jade disc, both sides carved in low relief with stylised dragons; a black jade disc carved with ruyi-shaped cloud motifs; a white jade disc incised with scrolling motifs; a chestnut and amber jade disc encircled by a stylised dragon in relief; a brown jade disc with a plain surface; and five further jade discs, decorated with raised bosses and comma spiral patterns, the jade ranging in colour from mottled brown and green, seaweed green, beige, to pale green. The largest: 6cm (2 3/8in) diam. (12).
