Five Dynasties
Rising from a gently concaved base, the elegantly everted rim divided into five double-lobed sections, the center with an impressed circle, the exterior with five quick strokes to indicate the overlapping petals, covered overall with a thin olive-green glaze with areas of brown from degradation, the base with unglazed patches reserved for firing, revealing the light-gray stoneware body.

A very similar Yue celadon bowl in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated on the Museum's website, inventory number 新00082670, described as an iconic example of Yue ware. Compare also the Yue celadon bowl unearthed in 1953 from the tomb of Liao King of Wei (buried 959), in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, illustrated in , Vol. 5, , Tokyo, 2013, p. 143, no. 23e.
