Finely worked in polychrome silk threads and couched gilt thread on a dark-blue satin ground, the xiapei of open-fronted form, each panel centered with a five-clawed dragon pursuing a flaming pearl amidst ruyi-shaped clouds, above the terrestrial diagram rising from cresting lishui waves, the upper register further decorated with cranes in flight, bats, peaches, and multicolored cloud scrolls interspersed with auspicious emblems, bordered with patterned woven silk bands, secured with silk ties at the waist, and finished with a long polychrome silk fringe along the lower edge.
