明弘治 黃釉盌
「大明弘治年製」款
Hongzhi porcelain continued the refinement of porcelain produced under the reign of his father, the Chenghua Emperor, although porcelain production was limited at the Imperial kilns in Jingdezhen during his short reign. Yellow monochromes were reserved for the sole use of the Imperial Court and played an important role in Court ritual sacrifices at the Diqitian, Altar of Earth.
A Hongzhi-mark and period yellow-glazed bowl of similar size in the Palace Museum Collection, Beijing, is illustrated in , Hong Kong, 1999, p.43, no.38.
