The group of Guyuexuan bottles of this shape is often carved with floral motifs. Those with a 'basket' design are often seen with two similar floral arrangements: one often with a butterfly with Chinese peonies and daisy, and the other with cherry blossoms such as the current lot. All of these bottles are found in well published collections. The ones like the current lot are found in the Christopher Sin collection and later donated to the Hong Kong Museum of Art, acc.no.C2023.0167 and the image can be accessed here, the Rt. Hon. The Marquess of Exeter collection, see Hugh Moss, Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Collection of the Rt. Hon. The Marquess of Exeter, London, 1974, pp.105-106, no.E.7, and the Bob Stevens' collection, see Stevens, , New York and Tokyo, 1976, no.967. In details, the current bottle is the closest to the one in the Exeter collection.
Hon. The Marquess of Exeter收藏,見Hugh Moss著,,倫敦,1974年,頁105-106,編號E.7;以及Bob Stevens收藏,見Stevens著,,紐約及東京,1976年,編號967。
