Late Ming Dynasty
Intricately enameled in the unusual white color, the flattened globular body rising from a short straight oval foot to a waisted gourd-shaped neck, set at the shoulder and upper neck with a pair of ruyi-handles, each main side slightly domed and with a central kui-dragon medallion encircled by brightly enameled flowers.

Cloisonné enamel moonflasks of this design on a white ground are exceptionally rare. Compare a closely related moonflask dating to the second half of the 17th century, of similar form and with ruyi handles, but decorated against a turquoise ground, illustrated in H. Brinker and A. Lutz, , New York, 1985, pl. 188; another turquoise ground example with dragon design was offered at Bonhams Hong Kong, 2 December 2021, lot 30. See also a white-ground example with related dragon decoration to the central medallions, formerly from Eskenazi Ltd., sold at Sotheby's London, 13 May 2015, lot 306.
