Qianlong four-character mark, Republic period
Rising from an ovoid body to an elongated flared neck, finely painted with a continuous scene of a court official and attendants in a terraced garden overlooking a lotus pond populated with ladies on boats with further ladies watching the scene from a pavilion, all against a backdrop of rich plantations and shapely rockwork, a dense network of scrolling floral design between the key-fret and lappet bands in blue enamel to the shoulder and neck, a four-character mark to the base, wood box.
